It was in 2018 that Kanye West unveiled the first edition of the 'Yeezy slipper'. This happened while Kanye was wearing the slides to a wedding. Pictures of this went viral as it looked like the slippers were way too small and badly fitted. Ye responded to the criticism by saying that this was the 'Japanese way' of wearing the slippers and that your foot should hang over the back of the slipper by one to two centimetres.

The Yeezy 'Graphite' slipper was part of Yeezy Season 6. The first model was not yet in collaboration with adidas. This only happened a year later with the release of the adidas x Yeezy slide.
